Treatment Approach
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic healthcare system that has been practised for thousands of years. At Waverley Central Chiropractic Clinic, our registered Chinese Medicine practitioner provides personalised care based on a comprehensive assessment, which may include discussion of your health history, observation, and traditional Chinese Medicine assessment methods such as tongue and pulse assessment.
Treatment recommendations are tailored to your individual presentation, health goals and preferences, and may be modified over time as your needs change.
What Treatment May Include
- Acupuncture: Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, single-use sterile needles into specific points on the body. It is commonly used within traditional Chinese Medicine as part of the management of a range of health concerns and may be incorporated into an individualised treatment plan where appropriate.
- Chinese Herbal Medicine: Chinese herbal medicine uses traditional herbal formulations prescribed according to traditional Chinese Medicine principles. Where appropriate, herbal prescriptions are individualised and provided after consideration of your health history and current presentation.
- Lifestyle and Dietary Guidance: Practical advice relating to lifestyle, movement and dietary habits may be provided in accordance with traditional Chinese Medicine principles to support your overall health and wellbeing.
- Cupping and Moxibustion: Where clinically appropriate, cupping and moxibustion may be used as adjunctive therapies within a treatment plan. Your practitioner will discuss whether these techniques are suitable for you.
Where appropriate and with your consent, Chinese Medicine care may be provided alongside chiropractic care or in collaboration with your GP or other healthcare providers as part of a coordinated approach to your healthcare.
